Jiayi received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2025, where she investigated the electrohydrodynamics of DNA migration and applied this phenomenon in microfluidic platforms to achieve genomic DNA purification. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Si’s lab, where her primary research interest lies in the mechanisms of cell membrane homeostasis, and she has recently started a project examining the membrane-based limiting factors for cell growth and other behaviors.
Outside the lab, she enjoys playing tennis and hiking with her pets.
